aspects of the interventions and collect some of the data, use of the phone to collect some of the data, use of home assessments. The methods of statistical analysis and the management of missing data require discussion since the intent-to-treat approach used in short-term symptomatic RCT does not readily apply to lengthy RCT with high drop-out rates (Vellas et al, Lancet Neurology 7, 436-450, 2008). Conclusions: These methodological challenges should not deter investigators and the public in testing good treatment hypothesis, because a successful delay of cognitive decline or of dementia will have a high public health impact.
