d m f c s m r b l b e o On Saturday, February 3, 2007, Leon J. Thal, MD, died n a tragic accident while flying his single engine airplane rom San Diego to Borrego Springs, California. He is surived by his lifelong comrade and wife, Donna Thal, PhD. he Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research community deeply aments the passing of a universally loved and admired eader of the field. Personally, my grief is over the loss of a ery kind, gentle, and generous friend. Through the years, eon had become a constant source of inspiration and the rother I never had.
