confused with an MMSE score of 23, walked with a stick and was independent in activities of daily living with some supervision. A year later, the patient was still doing well. She walked daily for several kilometers, was independent in activities of daily living and helped with housework and cooking. Her MMSE had improved to 25/30. Conclusion: These case studies suggest that ventriculo-peritoneal shunting may play a role in the treatment of dementia with ventriculomelagy.
