sions: We demonstrated the efficacy of two natural compounds with broad spectrum protective effects, low cost and very favorable toxicity profiles, the turmeric curry spice extract, curcumin, and the omega-3 fatty acid, DHA. By different mechanisms, both compounds have favorable epidemiology and are neuroprotective with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and multiple anti-amyloid activities. Both impact and synergize in protecting against a post-synaptic attack by A on a pathway relevant to synaptogenesis, synaptic plasticity, AD pathology and cognitive impairment. Collectively, these data advocate for clinical trials and ultimately, primary prevention trials using these compounds.
