d r s p c e m v r p o In the last 3 decades, advances in the neurobiology of iseases and aging have propelled research on Alzheimer’s isease and related dementing disorders to great promience. The exponential increase in the number of funded nvestigations, the diversity of publications, and a burgeonng international research community are the clearest indiation of the field’s emergence. These developmental trends epresent an important engine of knowledge that influences ot only the scope and quality of current research but also nderscores the need for the rapid communication of novel iscoveries and provocative ideas. The mission of the Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Joural of the Alzheimer’s Association is to bridge the knowldge gaps across a wide range of “bench to the bedside” nvestigations. The lack of translational knowledge is a significant imediment to the development of interventions to treat or revent dementia. The struggle to establish the conceptual inks between various domains of research remains the most ifficult challenge for the field. The journal will focus on ddressing this unmet need by serving as the communicaion vehicle for timely translation and presentation of nowledge across a wide spectrum of disciplines. The journal will accept only original papers on a variety f topics from diverse disciplines or points of view. These ill include behavior, biochemistry, genetics, molecular iology, pharmacology, physiology, protein chemistry, neuology, behavioral neurology, neuropathology, psychiatry, europsychiatry geriatrics, neuropsychology, epidemiology, ociology, health services research, health economics, po-
