during gestation was associated with an increased abortion rate, neonatal mortality and morbidity, and decreased birth weight [4]. Serum potassium and magnesium levels should be monitored closely during pregnancy in women with Gitelman syndrome because of the possible obstetric and lifethreatening complications for both mother and child. Oral supplementation should be sufficient throughout gestation; however, temporary intravenous supplementation should be considered in symptomatic women and during labor.
