Living in a neighborhood with a low socioeconomic context may increase the risk of coronary heart disease. However, few studies have explored the impact of neighborhood characteristics on subclinical atherosclerosis, and their role as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease has not yet been studied in poor countries.
