(n1⁄414) and sham (n1⁄415) groups respectively with no severe adverse events. The trial was ended early due to superiority of the active treatment. Conclusions: SAINT, an accelerated, high-dose, rTMS protocol with fcMRIguided targeting is significantly more effective than sham treatment for TRD. Our results could guide future clinical practice towards the use of neuroscience-informed stimulation parameter choices and personalized stimulation targets. The short 5-day duration of this treatment would allow SAINT to be used in emergency settings or during acute hospitalizations to rapidly ensure the safety of suicidal depressed patients.
