What is the durability of deep TMS for major depressive disorder?

Background: We performed a retrospective chart review to analyze patient outcomes in the treatment of Major Depression (MD) comparing 3 treatments per week versus 5 treatments per week rTMS protocols to determine if treatment frequency impacted upon efficacy. Methods: 131 patients suffering with a MD received Neurostar TMS Therapy at our center. 23 patients received 3 treatments per week and 108 patients received treatments 5 days per week. A retrospective chart review was undertaken focusing on PHQ 9 (primary variable) and QIDS-SR (secondary variable) for Response (50% reduction from baseline) and Remission (PHQ 9< 5, QIDS-SR < 6) rates for both treatment frequencies.
