Jacque C.M., Raoul M.M., Brockes J.P. and Zalc B. Inserm U. 134 H$pital de la Salp~tri6re 75651 PARIS CEDEX 13 FRANCE Trembler mutant mice are affected by a peripheral dysmyelination due to an impairment of Schwann cell capacity to build and maintain myelin. We have already shown (J. Neur~ chem 1983) that MBP increases until day 12 in the sciatic of these mutants. Then the MBP level rapidly decreases and keeps low until the adult stage.
