The primary symptom of the vulvar dystrophies (non‐neoplastic epithelial disorders of the vulvar skin and mucosa) is vulvar pruritus. The development of malignancy is relatively uncommon (1–5%) over a prolonged period. Medical therapy is effective in alleviating symptoms in most patients.
