In the present case, the vaginal sonographic picture of a cervical (collum) carcinoma, which was clinically non‐apparent, but was histologically established through a fractionated curettage, led to a change in the surgical procedure in the sense that a primary operation according to Wertheim—Meigs instead of a knife conisation was performed. The postoperative histology showed a good correlation between sonographic tumor boundaries and the actual expansion of the carcinoma.
