Circulating blood levels of luteinizing hormone, follicle‐stimulating hormone and prolactin are reported in 17 normally menstruating Nigerian women. The profiles of the secretion of these pituitary hormones are similar to those reported in other ethnic groups. A significant midcycle peak of prolactin, coinciding with the peaks of luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone was also observed.
