Exchange of bound alkali light chains on myosin by free alkali light chains is described. It was found that the yield of hybrid obtained was dependent on the incubation time in 4.7 M NH 4 Cl at pH 9.5. 60% recovery of S1 (A1) from S1(A2) was obtained using only a 2‐fold molar excess of A1 over S1(A2).
