Cyanophora paradoxa is a eukaryotic protist sensitive to β‐lactam antibiotics, most likely as a consequence of the binding of the drugs to a set of 7 proteins, analogous to eubacterial penicillin‐binding proteins (PBPs), located in the envelope of the C. paradoxa photosynthetic organelles, the cyanelles.
