A study of the oxygen requirements of the rat liver microsomal vitamin K‐dependent carboxylase and vitamin K 2,3‐epoxidase indicated that both enzymes had a K m for O 2 in the range 60–80 μM. This value was not influenced by vitamin concentration, alterations in carboxylase substrate, Mn 2+ , or dithiothreitol, and is consistent with the hypothesis that both activities are catalyzed by the same enzyme.
