We compared the kinetics of cytochrome‐ c oxidase (cytochrome‐ c : oxygen oxidoreductase, EC 1.9.3.1) in fibroblasts derived from normal and cystic fibrosis individuals. The K m of the enzyme for reduced cytochrome c was significantly increased in CF cells; the change, however, was observed only at temperatures above 25°C. The V max values were comparable in both types of individuals.
