Deinococcus radiophilus strain ATCC 27603 contains, apart from endonuclease Dra I [1], two additional sequence‐specific endonucleases. These enzymes, designated Dra II and Dra III, recognize nucleotide sequences with novel specificities, PuG↓GNCCPy and CACNN↓GTG, respectively.
