Some rat liver fatty acid synthetase has been isolated from microsomal fraction. Enzyme activity and electro micrography of purified enzyme show that the microsomal enzyme was the same as that of the supernatant. These results are discussed in relation to the role of microsomes in the de novo synthesis of fatty acids synthesis in the cell.
