Class IV : : Enzymes predominantly active against cephalosporins (two types: Ia and Ib) : Enzymes predominantly active against penicillins (two types: lla and lib) Enzymes with approximately equal activity against peniciUins and cephalosporins and which axe inhibited by cloxacillin but resistant to p-chloromercuribenzoate and other SH inhibitors (one type: III) Enzymes with similar substrate profile to Glass III but which are resistant to cloxacillin and sensitive to p-chloromercuribenzoate (three types: IVa, IVb and IVc).
