Cocoamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) is one of the most important amphoteric surfactants frequently used in cosmetic products, especially shampoos and bath products. Potentiometric and two‐phase active titrations of commercial grade CAPB are not in good agreement. The findings of this study suggest dimethylaminopropylamine‐betaines interfere with potentiometic titration.
