Summary The scanning of a number of swatches on a turntable rotating at 78 r.p.m. or faster, with a Hunter reflectometer yields the average reflectance of the set. The use of a glass plate to cover the cloth samples does not affect the reflectance measurement. Much time and work can be saved by application of the scanning technique to detergency tests employing multiple swatches of cloth.
