A simplified mathematical model has been used to describe industrial vegetable oil hydrogenation. The temperature dependence of the reaction rate constants is taken into account. Data collected from full‐scale hydrogenation units are used to evaluate the model param‐eters. A simple technique is suggested for parameter estimation.
