Nine C 1 substituted derivatives of eleostearic acid have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses and spectrophotometric data. The preparation of two additional derivatives is indicated by infrared spectroscopy, but difficulties in purification precluded elemental analysis data. Comments are made concerning conditions for product stability and reaction environment.
