Vinyl 5‐(1,4,5,6,7,7‐hexachloro‐3‐undecylbicyclo [2.2.1]‐5‐hepten‐2‐yl)‐pentanoate [I] was prepared by the vinylation of the Diels‐Alder adduct of cis ‐6‐octadecenoic (petroselinic) acid and hexachlorocyclopentadiene (HCCPD). The HCCPD adduct of methyl petroselinate was also prepared, and distilled.
