Abstract Seed oils of Cassia grandis , Linn and Delonix elata , Gamble, Syn. Poinciana elata , Linn, belonging to the Leguminosae family contain small amounts of sterculic and malvalic acids as determined by conversion of esters with AgNO 3 /MeOH, NMR and IR.
