The laboratory refining loss and the neutral oil content of the crude oil of Pistacia seeds are determined by the Wesson, acetone‐insoluble and chromatographic methods and the results are compared. For a variety of samples with a different free fatty acid content, the refining loss by the chromatographic method is determined and an expression for the relationship between laboratory refining loss and free fatty acid content of Pistacia oil is proposed.
