18‐Oxo‐9,10‐epoxystearic acid was identified in the cutin of young apple fruits by hydrogenolysis with LiAlH 4 , deuterolysis with LiAlD 4 , CrO 3 oxidation of deuterated product followed by reduction with LiAlH 4 and mass spectrometry of the products.
