Male albino rats were administered various oral doses of tibric acid daily for 1 week. Serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels were reduced, but total liver content of cholesterol, phospholipids, and triglycerides was increased. Tibric acid treatment suppressed the incorporation of both [ 14 C] acetate and [ 3 H] mevalonate into cholesterol by liver homogenates.
