In the present paper the stability of prostaglandins E 1 , E 2 , and E 3 has been studied in two types of solvents: (a) solvents in which they can be used in clinical trials and (b) solvents which are commonly used for their isolation from biological systems. The solvents used in the first type were ethanol, saline, and water while those in the second type were chloroform and ethylacetate. In addition to this the effect of light on stability of these prostaglandins in chloroform also has been studied.
