Abstract trans ‐3‐Hexadecenoic acid (14%) and the previously unreported trans ‐3‐octadecenoic acid (2%) have been identified in seed oil of Grindelia oxylepis Greene, Compositae. Evidence was also found for the existence of other acids with trans ‐3 unsaturation.
