Abstract Tropaeolum speciosum seed fat contains 41.6 wt % cis ‐15‐tetracosenoic acid and 7.6 wt % cis ‐17‐hexacosenoic acid. Unlike nasturtium seed fat ( Tropaeolum majus ), the 22∶1, 24∶1 and 26∶1 in T. speciosum triglycerides are almost entirely esterified at the 1,3 positions.
