Abnormalities in glycoprotein composition have been demonstrated in brain tissue from patients with GM 1 gangliosidosis and Niemann‐Pick disease and in spleen from patients with Gaucher's disease. The mechanism producing these glycoprotein abnormalities is probably different in each disease.
