Recently, three Macaca mulatta monkeys at the Wisconsin Regional Primate Research Center developed diseases that fit into the simian acquired immune deficiency syndrome (SAIDS). The purpose of this report is to describe the disease manifestations seen in these rhesus monkeys. Additionally, a brief review of primate retroviruses is given.
