To assess the traditional solutions of the constraint problems of sleigh, we introduce a resistent torque acting on the knife blade. The derived solutions conform with experience whereas the traditional counter‐intuitive results follow from our findings as special cases when the resistent torque is very small or/and the length of the knife blade vanishes.
