This paper presents a theory of Cosserat thermoelastic solids with initial stresses, initial couple stresses, and initial heat flux. First, the equations governing the infinitesimal deformations superposed on large deformations of Cosserat thermoelastic bodies are established. Then, a linear theory of prestressed Cosserat continua with initial heat flux is derived. The continuous dependence of the solutions upon initial data and body supplies is established.
