The paper deals with the comparison of different soil‐pipe interaction models on the stems distribution in buried pipelines due to seismic motions. The effect of soil is modeled by springs attached to the pipeline. We showed, that linear characteristics am inappropriate, however, by using nonlinear springs the model is sensitive on the correct load formulation.
