During the past decade nonsmooth dynamical systems have become increasingly important in engineering and other applied sciences as nonsmooth effects are genuinely taken into account and are no longer smoothed out. Due to the lack of smoothness classical mathematical methods are applicable only to a limited degree and require extensions both for analytical and numerical methods. In the present paper the dynamics of nonsmooth oscillators with impact and friction are investigated numerically and by experiments.
