The development of the integrator library MBSSIM [6] has shown that the efficient simulation of multibody systems such as vehicles or heavy machines in descriptor form greatly depends upon the interrelation between modeling and simulation. This subject will be studied using the scalable model of the IR‐chain [7]. It will be shown that a recursive solution of the arising linear systems in connection with a structure enhancing modeling using special natural coordinates greatly improves the performance of simulation tools.
