This contribution presents a spectral method used for solving magnetohydrodynamic problems in spherical geometry. The advantages of the method for the problem at hand are emphasized. The accuracies obtained with finite differences and a particular spectral discretization (Chebychev collocation) are compared for a one dimensional model problem.
