The problem of reliability of girders subjected to time‐varying and location‐changing load is considered. The load acts on the structure in the static manner but changes in time their location and values. The magnitude of the load is a random variable. Taking into account the possible operation of the structure in the range of elastic‐plastic strains it is proposed to evaluate its reliability in terms of the shakedown theory. On the basis of the Neal's unshakedown theorem the reliability relative to the incremental failure and the reliability relative to the fatigue failure are estimated.
