A new method of the construction of an analytical solution of a thermoelastic problem for a homogeneous isotropic cylinder in the case of an arbitrary two‐dimensional nonaxisymmetric temperature field is proposed in this paper. The integral relations between separate components of the stress tensor, and also the integral conditions of equilibrium for stress tensor components and integral conditions of material continuity of the cylinder for displacement vector components are additionally found.
