In this paper numerical schemes of the KIVA code for fluid dynamics modeling will be analyzed. In particular consistency and accuracy will be proved. Attention will be paid to the effects of the grid on the numerical properties of the schemes. Moreover, numerical examples will be given in order to show the actual influence of the choice of the grid on the accuracy of the solution.
