The present paper deals with the one‐dimensional thermal stress problem in a fluid‐filled porous medium, when the fluid in a porous medium flows in a steady state. If a heat conduction equation taking into consideration the flow of the fluid in the porous medium is used, the governing equations for this thermal stress problem become simultaneous quasilinear differential equations. The closed formed solutions for thermal stresses may be obtained in a hollow circular cylinder of the porous medium. Numerical results for thermal stresses are shown in figures.
