A semi‐numerical method for the solution of dynamic problems of linear and nonlinear structures is presented under the unifying aspect of sources of self‐stresses. Conceptually applications are possible to the Finite Element and the Boundary Element Method in time as well as in the frequency domain. In addition to physical nonlinearities of viscoplasticity also geometrically nonlinear problems are considered. Effects of refined linear theories are discussed.
