This paper gives an analysis of the viscous effects on the unsteady lifts acting on three‐dimensional subsonic cascades by means of actuator disk method. Rigorous solutions of linearized Navier‐Stokes equation are firstly given in the up‐and down‐stream regions of the actuator disk and then coupled together using the momentum equations and the equation of continuity. The results approach to the inviscid solutions so far known by letting Re → ∞. It is shown that the effects of the viscosity are remarkable especially near the resonance and at high frequency.
