This paper is concerned with a method for calculating the stress distribution in a sphere which undergoes elastic and creep deformation due to the axisymmetric loading. Applying the Goodier' s concept to the inelastic problem and adopting the procedure of a step by step progression in time, the solution of the incremental creep strain problem reduces to the particular and the complementary ones. Using the foregoing method, the solution is derived for calculating the creep stresses in a hollow sphere with stamps on the external surface. The numerical results show how the stress distribution varies with time through creep.
