Anisotropic diffusion of a tracer in a turbulent medium is considered. Once the neighbour concentration has been calculated, the evaluation of the tracer's concentration may be obtained by series expansion in terms of orthonormal functions. The harmonic‐oscillator wave functions are suggested as a suitable choise. The ambiguities arising about the sign of the series coefficients are discussed.
