Some steady, axisymmetric flows of a gas with infinite electrical conductivity are considered, and it is shown that under certain restrictions these flows can be linked to associated axisymmetric gasdynamic flows with zero magnetic field and zero toroidal component of velocity. This latter flow may be further reduced to a twodimensional flow of a compressible fluid. Examples are given, and a method is indicated for generating classes of axisymmetric and two‐dimensional flows with everywhere parallel velocity and magnetic fields.
