This paper gives a formula for resistance (in series of Legendre functions) on a sphere due to a circular vortex filament in an uniform flow of a perfect liquid. The stream function of the motion has been found by Butler's sphere Theorem and then the resistance on the sphere is calculated by means of Bernoulli's pressure equation.
